Rifco are an award winning British Asian Theatre Company that develops and creates vibrant, accessible and high quality theatre which reflects and celebrates the contemporary British Asian experience.
Since 1999, we have been pushing the boundaries of performing arts, presenting something fresh and diverse to the stage and introducing a new audience to the world of theatre. We entice, educate and engage with people of all backgrounds to celebrate the cultural fusions and rich diversity of our society.
Our success lies in knowing what our audience wants. We constantly strive to produce great art that educates without preaching. We want our audience to deal with current topics and at times taboo subjects whilst being able to laugh at the world we live in. This combined with all the glitz and glamour you would expect from a British Asian Theatre Company makes Rifco unique!
We focus on artistic excellence, new writing and ambitious programming. We believe in Artist Development; working with new writers, nurturing young artists and creating new and exciting work, involving the community every step of the way.
Our productions have toured across venues such as Warwick Arts Centre, The Curve Leicester, Theatre Royal Stratford East, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Theatre Royal Windsor, The Drum, Oldham Coliseum, The Orchard Dartford, Oxford Playhouse, Hackney Empire, Mercury Theatre Colchester, The Woodville Gravesend and Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Rifco is an Arts Council England National Portfolio and Registered Charity.
